Known as a major player in mass distribution, the group is also a recognised business partner of independent or associated commerce via its specialised subsidiaries.

Sales are managed directly by each entity according to its market and distribution scope. Altogether, there are close to 300 sales representatives spreading out every day across thousands of retail outlets. From sourcing to receipt of goods in our warehouses, import is one of our core activities, with more than 4,500 containers handled each year and nearly 100 people involved in purchasing, supply chain and quality compliance, distributed between head office and the subsidiaries.

Retail

The Retail activity groups together the referencing and purchasing bodies and more than 450 retail outlets located mainly in France. From the small city centre boutique to the medium or large store installed on the outskirts, the retail activity of Cargo is as varied as the markets of the group.

The activities of sales, merchandising and logistics are most prominently represented, as are marketing, communication and digital which are also key functions at the core of this activity cluster. A dedicated team within Cargo's IT department manages hardware and software equipment as well as in-store support for all its own retail chains.

Services

Over the years, the group has developed a unique business expertise which has led to the creation of service companies working with both our subsidiaries and external customers. This expertise covers various activities such as merchandising – with services for installing, restocking and remodelling shelf space; sales activities; logistics and transport; training; or sourcing and production audit.

At head office, Cargo hosts its integrated service activities dedicated to its subsidiaries and their operational and strategic requirements. The IT, Marketing, Quality, Legal, Human Resources, Accounting and Payroll departments place their teams of experts at the service of the group's subsidiaries.
